Knife skills 10-1 £51

On this half day or evening workshop you will learn how to look after and use your knives properly. The course starts by explaining which knives are best for which job, generally 3 – 4 properly cared for knives will see you through most kitchen preparation with the focus on the two most useful sizes.
Time will be spent learning how to use a steel and sharpening stone correctly before moving on to using the correct knife for specific tasks and cuts; for example: julienne, brunoise, macedoine, mire-poix etc. You will also learn how to joint a chicken – which you will take home with you.
By the end of the workshop you should have increased your confidence in using a knife correctly, as well as being able to keep a keen edge on it – essential for safe and speedy preparation and an ideal first course to start with.
