Health and safety
All students must wear flat, non-slip footwear with covered toes. You will not be admitted into the kitchen without proper footwear or suitable clothing. Long hair should be tied back.
Your safety in the kitchen is important and guidance and supervision is provided at all times. However, the school knives are sharp and occasionally people cut themselves. By booking onto a course you accept that this is your responsibility.
In booking courses at The Rutland Cookery School, you are booking for one individual day, half-day or block course at the time and date specified and, once booked, you are not able to change the date and time of this course unless we receive notice 3 weeks prior to the date of your course.
All courses are non-refundable.
If you find you are unable to attend , you are welcome to send someone in your place, even at very short notice. However, you must notify us in advance if you wish to do this.
Please note we do not offer refunds, but provided at least 3 weeks’ notice is given, we will endeavor to reschedule your booking, subject to availability and an administrative fee of 25% of the value of the class. It is only possible to re-schedule once. If for whatever reason you feel you need to change your date, please be aware that for very popular classes we might not be able to accommodate your new date and you may have to select another class. Please bear in mind that if for whatever reason you do not attend your class, we are unable to offer a refund or reschedule.
Insurance can cover you for many issues that may prevent you from attending your Course such as travel disruption, sickness or sickness of a near relative. We strongly recommend that you look at this option to insure yourself against loss of Course Fees.
It is essential when booking that you advise of any accessibility issues, allergies or dietary requirements. Rutland Cookery School is committed to being as inclusive as possible and we will do our utmost to accommodate you but we do need to know in advance. We are wheelchair friendly and have a height adjustable workstation, also useful for other disabilities that make standing for any length of time difficult.
We aim to work with the best and freshest ingredients and may need to change dishes at the last moment.
We reserve the right to cancel any course if sufficient numbers are not enrolled on it. An alternative date or full refund will be offered.
All prices include VAT, equipment and ingredients. A light lunch is included if appropriate (this depends on what we are cooking) on day-time courses. You may also have products to take home with you, depending on what we make / eat. Please bring food storage containers.
